A beautifully romantic Edwardian sweetheart brooch, crafted in sterling silver and decorated with rose gold floral and bird appliqué. Two engraved birds perch amongst blossoming flowers and flowing vines, a motif representing love, devotion and companionship.
Fully hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office for 1904, the brooch is a gorgeous example of early twentieth-century workmanship. Both yellow and rose gold detailing provides a pleasing contrast to the sterling silver, while the engraved decoration adds depth and character to the design.
It is easy to imagine this brooch as a cherished token of affection, exchanged more than a century ago. Whatever its original story, it has endured with grace and is ready to be appreciated by its next custodian, whether worn or added to an antique jewellery collection.
