Antique demi-parure brooch and earrings
Antique demi-parure brooch and earrings
Pristine condition antique demi-parure comprised of garnet and gold brooch and earrings. Circa late Victorian to early Edwardian era with original presentation case this beautiful set features intricate detailing reflecting the meticulous skill it took to create these jewels.
On professional assessment we discovered these pieces were created using a now discontinued method which was known as 'gold colouring'. A 9ct yellow gold formula underwent an acid etching treatment resulting in a high carat gold surface. This was a messy and dangerous process and is not performed these days. Indeed, XRF test confirms 22ct purity.
This superb demi parure is perfect for collectors and connoisseurs of antique jewellery.
Brooch has a small jump ring to reverse, enabling it to be worn as a pendant.
