An iconic expression of Hermès equestrian heritage, this Carré 90 L’Instruction du Roy scarf by H. D’Origny was first released in 1993.
Crafted with luxurious jacquard silk which adding depth and richness to the intricate equestrian motifs. The detailed design reflects Hermès’ dedication to storytelling, craftsmanship, and enduring elegance.
The design translates to “The Instruction of the King in the Art of Riding” and draws inspiration from the influential writings of Antoine de Pluvinel (1552–1620). A renowned riding master, author, and tutor to Louis XIII, Pluvinel revolutionised horsemanship with his humane, gentle training methods - principles that continue to influence equestrian practice today. His landmark work is still regarded as one of the most important texts ever written on the art of riding.
