A beautiful vintage silver rivière necklace, featuring a uniform row of vibrant green paste stones in traditional closed-back silver settings with integrated clasp. The closed backs enhance the richness and depth of colour, allowing the stones to glow beautifully as they catch the light.
The silver tests at approximately 830–850 fineness, rather than the British 925 standard. This lower silver fineness is a recognised European or Continental standard commonly used in jewellery during the early to mid-20th century, consistent with the style and construction of the necklace.
Elegant and striking on the neckline, the necklace is finished with a discreet hidden tongue-and-groove clasp for a secure and seamless finish. The vivid green stones bring a fresh touch of colour, while the classic rivière design makes this a distinctive and easy-to-wear vintage piece.
A lovely example of early to mid-20th-century jewellery, with its vivid green stones and traditional silver construction giving it plenty of character.
